Commentary During Books Breaker's Reef (Cape Refuge #4)
Murder and mystery continue in Book Four of the Cape Refuge series A famous mystery writer has just moved to Cape Refuge when a teenage girl is found murdered. Sheila Caruso–ex-con, mother to Sadie and Caleb, and resident of Hanover House–is working for the writer when she discovers that a scene in one of his novels matches the crime scene. When Police Chief Cade and Blair Owens discover a second dead teenager–mirroring a murder in another of the eccentric writer’s books–Cade is drawn into a web of trickery and deceit. Evidence turns up in Cade’s own truck, and suddenly he becomes the number-one suspect. Cade tries to clear his name, but when eighteen-year-old Sadie Caruso disappears, tensions mount to a fever pitch. Can Cade find the real killer before Sadie winds up dead? Is the novelist a demented killer, or a hapless victim? And what does Sadie’s own mother have to do with the crimes? Secrets are uncovered, while lessons are learned about the sins of the father being visited upon his children. Will the consequences of Sheila’s life be fatal, or is there redemption and mercy for her and her children? “Chief Matthew Cade rarely considered another line of work, but news of the dead teenage girl made him long for a job as an accountant or electrician—some benign vocation that didn’t require him to look into the eyes of grieving parents.”Describe Books Supposing Breaker's Reef (Cape Refuge #4)

Not one of her better series. The first three just show a divided town and they never pull together. Chief Cade is constantly belittled or blamed so I just couldn't read this 4th installment which is just a continuation of my irritation with the first three books.Sheila at 15 years old had given birth to a daughter. She was adopted and a year older than Sadie. Amelia comes to Cape Refuge in search of her birth mother (who is Sheila). Cade and Blair get married at books end.HEA for Sheila, Sadie and Amelia too.Morgan has a baby boy, Wayne :) There is loads of drama here but I did not like the plot as much as book 3, thus the rating.
I haven't read a book that would be this bad in ages. I managed to make myself read about 180 pages of it. Then I decided to read the end, just to find out who the murderer was. If I could give this book minus stars, I would have given them! The reasons why I hated it, are (not in any particular order):1. The language used in this book was annoyingly naive or something like that. I don't know who to blame for this: the writer or the translator, but it was something I call "lässyn-lässyn"

It could have tied up a few more loose ends, but overall it was a good book and a enjoyable series
A great story with a lot of action and romance. It kept you guessing and wondering, which I like. I listened to the audio book version. The only two negatives for this book were as follows: 1. The scene where Sadie goes to the seeds hotel and speaks to the man at the neighbouring apartment. I dont think anyone would make that foolish of a decision. 2. That the bride did what she did at her reception. Just didnt ring true at all. I have to be honest and say that it was very difficult to keep
UGHHH!!! I'm soooo so very sad to see this one end. Maybe one day Terri Blackstock will come back and give us a glimpse into the lives of the residents years down the road....A young girl is found dead, and the new clueless officer didn't preserve the scene... Dude, how could you possibly mess up evidence? Moving one... she is one of the nicest teens in town, never got into any trouble. How could she have been murdered? No one understands this...On the bright side, Shelia has found a job. She is
5/4/193.5 starsI thought the first and last books were the weakest of the series, but that doesn't by any means convey that I wasn't tied to the edge of my seat for this story, because I was! It's a good thriller with some weaknesses, especially in the believability of the police resources and other details. I'll miss these characters!
