Fly fishing season proves deadly in this new RM Outdoor Adventure

Fly fishing is dangerous? River ranger Mandy Tanner had no idea until days before a huge tournament in Salida, Colorado. True, the Arkansas River can be a man-eater, but the rapids weren’t responsible for driving a hatchet into the heart of would-be competitor Howie Abbott. Was the killer upset that Howie was cheating? While casting around for suspects, Mandy makes a horrifying discovery in the river: the dead body of Howie Abbott’s niece. What provoked the teenage girl to run away from home? Is her death connected to Howie’s?

Evaluate About Books Wicked Eddies (An RM Outdoor Adventures Mystery #2)
geez stayed up almost til midnight to finish this! Mandy is a good solid likeable character with murder on the Colorado river. I got this book about 2 yrs ago and you know what happens, gets collected in the books files of the kindle. glad I found it to read!

I love how Beth Groundwater weaves knowledge of river rafting and fishing competitions into the story. She also uses so many of the senses in describing settings. There is strong motivation for Mandy to become more involved in the crimes than her job requires so that works for me. The only negative for me was Mandy's boyfriend, Rob, when he kept pushing her to sell her uncle's home. I wanted to yell at him to let her deal with her grief in her own way and her own time. The problem is that

Salida Colorado is getting ready for its annual fly fishing tournament. The river rangers are checking all the spots up and down the mighty Arkansas River making sure everything is ready for the participants. Mandy thinks it should be a busy weekend but it shouldn't be too dangerous. Then she finds the dead body, would-be competitor Howie Abbott and it wasn't a fish that drove that hatchet through his neck.As Mandy searches for clues she finds out Howie Abbott is Cynthia's uncle and her least

Having already dealt with the death of a rafter in Deadly Currents during her first season as river ranger along the Arkansas River in Colorado, Mandy Tanner finds that the season will not conclude quietly for her. While picking up litter ashore, Mandy finds Howie Abbott axed to death a la Lizzie Borden! With the annual fly fishing tournament fast approaching, Howie had a reputation for cheating in this cutthroat sport. However, when Mandy later finds the body of his teenage niece in the river,

This was a light easy read, and maybe not quite as engaging as the first book in this series. But even though the book is written in a fairly simple writing style, it was entertaining and held my interest; a good read to have when you want something that doesn't require much thinking.

I was the first few chapters into the book, and had to go to work. At one point I found myself reviewing movies in my head--thinking of the images and such. There was one movie I couldn't remember the name of. I could see the setting, and so on... and then I realized it was Beth Groundwater's book. It wasn't a movie at all. I understood, then, how descriptive her writing is. The plot and characters are just as wonderful! A very good read. I look forward to reading more of her work.
