This book was a present from my mom for my 16th birthday. Unfortunately it was one of the worst books I've ever read. I guess it was meant to be quite philosophical with Daniel the dolphin (!) searching for the perfect wave but I just didn't get it. Or maybe I got and it simply didn't satisfy me. This thinking, talking dolphin just seemed so ridiculous to me, the way he talked and the simple style the book was written in. I don't get how this turned out to be such a huge success.

Absolutely wonderful book! The Dolphin is 81 pages of inspiration! I loved it! A wonderful story of hope, courage, bravery, dreams, and listening to your inner voice! Wonderful!

5/10 As much as I love dolphins, this books seems to be targeted to a younger surfer-type Australian crowd. In other words, it sucked.

Just much too shallow. Might be suited for very young Readers. The story is unimaginative and might as well be about a beetle in a field or a hippo in a river. The language is as simple as the would-be philosophical, rather esoteric insights. I was utterly annoyed.
