Tis the 3rd book in series , Abby is an English lady who lost her mother several years back and brought up by a strict ,abusing father. I enjoyed this story but felt like it was dragging on towards the end.

I have not read the first two, but if they are anything like "Healing Grace" they will be awesome. I would say you can read "Healing Grace" as a stand alone.
